How I DipDye My Hair

Recently I re-dyed my dip dye and since people have been tweeting asking what have I used? how do I do it? ect so I thought, even though I've made a video on this I would write a blogpost.

First of all I just want to point out that I do not actually dye my hair and I have never bleached it!

Before re dying my hair to a purple/blue colour that it's at now, I have had my hair red and also a light purple still without using actual dye. I have used the colour revive conditioner by osmo which you put in your hair for 10-15 minutes after you washed your hair for a good year now and the last colour my dip dye was a light purple.

I have tried out this new semi-permanent hair cream as I wanted to try a different colour and this said it would be brighter (which in my opinion was not but that's because I haven't bleached my hair) but this is still by the brand osmo.

I have the colour wild violet expecting it to turn out like the colour that is shown on the bottle, even though it didn't come out like that I still think the colour is nice.

What I also get asked a lot is how do I do it?

I wash my hair like normal, shampoo and conditioner, however I have been told not to condition my hair until after adding the dye otherwise the colour doesn't stick to the hair as well as it could do. After that I will towel dry my hair then put on rubber gloves (seriously do this because you will end up dying yourself the colour of the dye, trust me) I'm not too sure how much you are meant to use but I just kept on adding the dye until it looked as though I had enough evenly at the bottom of my hair.

After I have applied the dye I put a black towel around my shoulders and sat in my room for a good 30-40 minutes, as it was the first time adding this colour to my hair so I gave it a little longer as I still had a bit of the other colour on my hair and wanted to make sure that this colour would colour my hair well. I went back into the bathroom and just rinsed it off until there was no more dye coming out of my hair in the water.

I will probably do this after every 5 or 6 hair washes but I'm not 100% sure how long this dye will last as the other osmo product could go up to 6/7 washes until it started to fade so I'm taking a guess that this is the same.

Many people also have been asking if this fades out completely and that I don't know about I'm sorry, I've never tried to make the dye completely fade so I have no idea but my guess is if it does completely fade it would take 3-4 weeks of washes.
This is what the bottle looks like, I think you can find it online and also if you are from the UK the shop 'Sallys' sells the product which is where I get it from.

After that I need to dry my hair so I brush through with a paddle brush and add Garniers Ultimate Blends oil to the bottom of my hair as I will be drying it with a hairdryer and I need a heat protector to protect my hair from the heat.

While drying my hair I use a diffuser as I have naturally curly hair, the diffuser helps me keep the curls while drying my hair quickly other than just waiting for it to air dry. Also it keeps my curls neat and not in just one giant frizz like it would be if I dried my hair normally, so if you have curly hair I highly recommend you getting one (just make sure it fits on the end of your hair dryer)

After I've done all of this my hair is done and I could finally see the colour that the dye has created my hair to be like, which I am quite happy with, I still wish it was a little brighter as you need light on it to properly see it but I do like the colour a lot and will keep it like this for a while.

Hope this helps some people and answers some questions, if you have anymore leave them in a comment or tweet me (@Sophie_FosterXx) and I shall answer your questions:)

First Post!

I am pretty rubbish at starting things off such as essays, videos or even just speaking to people in person so um hi there.

I'm guessing most of you are here because you know me from Youtube, if not then you should go and subscribe (promo already).

I just wanted to make this first post simply so there is something on this blog and it isn't glad blank so I'm just going to tell you a few things about myself, some you may know and some you may not, also this blog in no way is going to be all formal and what not like that stuffs for school.

My full name is Sophie Diana Foster and I have just turned 17 on March 19th, so yes I'm pretty much a baby in the YouTube community, I started YouTube in October time in 2013 but I started properly getting into it in March 2014 which is when I hit 1K subscribers which to me is still insane yet here I am March 2015 with 25,580 subscribers which is even more insane like where on earth did all these people come from?????? However, youtube is my favourite thing to do and it makes me very very happy and I'm getting more and more into it, I just love it a lot!

I have 3 dogs, Ellie, Dizzy and Beanie and 2 cats but I hate cats so I like to keep my distance from them. I also have a younger sister, Amie she's a strange one but we get on well so it's all good then I just have a mum and dad so pretty normal family life there.

When it comes to friends I've met most of them online, I have Ali and Laura who are my 2 closest friends irl however I did get closer to them through the internet which is kind of odd, then online I'm closest to my friends Tom, Immy, Kirsty, Ciara, Sarah and Marie however there are loads more whom I talk to just I talk to all them the most and I love them very much.

I have such a boring life so I don't really know what else to say other than I go to college still so I'm in education studying art, photography and media studies (I may do a few art/photography blog posts we shall see) I mean college is alright but it's just so much work and as someone who procrastinates and gets bored easily you can tell how I get on.

I also want to add that I'm 5ft7inch because everyone seems to think that I am a giant and I'm really not I promise you, however if you ever do meet me I am going to say sorry now for how awkward I will be because I literally won't know what to say or do, I'm too socially awkward I'm sorry but never feel scared to say hi to me because I'm probably more scared than you are and I promise I'm not mean.

One last thing incase you didn't know, I'm a little bit in love with 5SOS, One Direction, Halsey and a lot of TV shows so expect a lot of blog posts about them, sorry not sorry.

I think that's about as much as I can think of for now, tell me on twitter (@Sophie_FosterXx) what kind of blog posts you would like me to write as that shall be very helpful but for now thank you for reading, I hope I made sense and yeah, cool, I can't do endings either.... bye... :)
